“One of the best hours of entertainment and education
I have ever seen! In addition to being wonderfully entertaining it
was educational, especially for teenage kids. The message of the mind
being more powerful than drugs and belief in something as a way to
achieve a goal are wonderful lessons for young adults!”

Rick’s high school show
So you’re looking for assemblies for your school
and you’ve thought of having a hypnotist (or maybe have had
one in the past) and are a little unsure of the whole hypnosis idea.
Well, the first place to start is in the FAQ’s page,
which will answer most of your general questions about the phenomena
of hypnosis. You will find out that hypnosis is a safe and natural
state of mind.
Your next question will probably be: “Why should
I invite Hypnotist Rick Stratton to our school instead of a magician
or musical group or public speaker?”
Because Rick’s hypnosis show is a uniquely entertaining combination
of education & fun! The emphasis is always on comedy, as he invites
the whole audience to participate, but throughout the show Rick uses
that comedy to demonstrate how powerful the mind can be and how students
can use that power to address issues that they deal with every day:
These are just a few of the things that young adults face; teenagers
today have more choices than ever. Their lives can be hectic and complicated
as they are exposed to endless amounts of information, with people
trying to influence them in all aspects of their lives: which soft
drinks to buy, what kind of friends to hang out with, and even, unfortunately,
what drugs & cigarettes to use. Rick shows them that by
recognizing these hypnotic techniques that advertisers, politicians,
religious leaders, and even (usually without realizing it), their
friends use to influence their thoughts and decisions, they
can learn how to make their own choices. They’ll be
able to see firsthand how these same techniques can be used to make
them believe they're in love with someone one minute and then have
an extreme prejudice against them the next. He'll show them that just
by using the power of suggestion, he can get them to forget their
name, or believe that they're on a space ship meeting aliens, or that
someone in the audience just pinched them.Rick's point is that if
he can get them to believe all these things in just one hour, imagine
what the "outside world" is doing to influence us every
day.
Rick finishes his show with a self-help session. The
subjects choose something about their personality that they'd like
to change (weight loss, quit smoking, more confidence, better study
habits...) and picture themselves without those old habits; he suggests
to them that they can see themselves in a mirror with those changes
and that they have the ability to become that person. It can
be a pretty powerful moment when they realize that they can
change, just by shifting their thoughts about themselves.
This show is great for general school assemblies, Homecoming
weekend, Prom night festivities, Spirit Week, fundraising events;
any time you need a good laugh with a positive message...
Hypnotist Rick Stratton's show is hilarious
education at it's best!
